Cancer Registrars summarize confidential data collected about cancer patients. This data includes demographic information (age, sex, race), diagnosis, treatment, disease recurrence and survival. The ultimate goal is to decrease illness and death associated with cancer, improve quality of patient care, improve cancer control efforts, participate in research, increase public awareness of cancer prevantion, educate the public and health care providers on current information and trends.
