What We Do
Cancer Registrars summarize confidential data collected about cancer patients. This data includes demographic information (age, sex, race), diagnosis, treatment, disease recurrence and survival. The ultimate goal is to decrease illness and death associated with cancer, improve quality of patient care, improve cancer control efforts, participate in research, increase public awareness of cancer prevention, educate the public and health care providers on current information and trends.
Our Goals
- To promote research and education in the Cancer Registry so that TRAT may be of greater service to the cancer patient.
- To raise the level of knowledge and performance of Cancer Registrars through discussion and exchange of ideas.
- To disseminate information to members of TRAT regarding current activities and trends in the oncology field.
- To initiate and/or participate in programs to improve and standardize the compiling of Cancer Registry information.
- To promote public awareness of cancer health and prevention through information dissemination.
